The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has revealed the cause of death for a 12-year-old girl who was found dead in her Enfield home in March.
The investigation began after the child was found dead in her Elm Street home on March 18. On April 2, her stepfather, Anthony Federline, was arrested and charged with sexually assaulting her. In July, search warrants revealed that a lethal dosage of Diphenhydramine, also known by the trade name Benadryl, was found in her system after she died.
On Monday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said that the child’s cause of death was acute Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), Fluoxetine (Prozac) and Bupropion (Wellbutrin) intoxication. The manner is “Undetermined (overdose with undetermined intent).”
