A man was shot and killed in San Jose on Wednesday night and police are still trying to piece together what happened and why.
Officers were sent to the 700 block of Stockton Avenue near Taylor Street at about 11 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting, San Jose police said Thursday.
When they got to the scene, officers found a man who had been shot at least once. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation. The victim’s name wasn’t released.
It is the city’s 18th homicide of 2026.
