Two men who died in a fiery, wrong-way crash in Santa Clara last week have been identified, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Wednesday.
On Aug. 26, police responded to Montague Expressway at the Lafayette Street overpass where they found a GMC SUV on its side and engulfed in flames, and a damaged silver Honda pickup truck. Investigators believe that the SUV driver was driving in the wrong direction on northbound Montague Expressway and collided with the Honda.
The people killed in the crash were 58-year-old Stephen Hinkson of San Carlos and 39-year-old Keith Demarest, whose city of residence was not released.
Information on who drove which vehicle was not immediately available.
