90s Con returns to Hartford for a weekend full of nostalgia

If you want to take a trip down memory lane and relive the 1990s, head to Hartford this weekend — 90s Con returns to the Connecticut Convention Center starting Friday night.

Over the next three days, hundreds of people are expected to travel back in time and meet their favorite TV sitcom and drama celebrities.

“Bring that nostalgia back,” said DJ Tre, who will keep the ’90s hits playing throughout the weekend.

Cast members from popular TV shows including “Full House,” “Step by Step,” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Melrose Place” will reunite. Boy band fans will also have a chance to see Nick Carter, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Zac Hanson.

“Just having that many people here at one time really brings you back to your childhood,” DJ Tre said. “I always try to do songs from the people who are going to be here, whether it be the TV shows, the movies, the boy bands.”

Fans can also check out a replica of the iconic Mystery Machine from “Scooby-Doo,” built by Joe Edgerton after he watched the 2002 live-action movie with his son.

“It’s amazing. Sometimes I look in the garage and can’t believe it’s still there, like it’s mine,” Edgerton said.

Edgerton now brings the van to conventions across New England, including 90s Con.

“If I can put a smile on somebody’s face or make somebody’s day, that’s what it’s all worth,” he said.

From scrunchies and cassettes to Care Bears and classic TV shows, the convention offers fans a chance to relive their favorite memories from the decade while making some new ones.

Actress Selma Blair is expected to make an appearance at 90s Con this weekend despite her recent arrest.

She was in court this week after police said she assaulted flight attendants aboard a plane en route to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City, according to law enforcement sources, and then allegedly attacked a police officer and a nurse afterward.

90s Con runs through Sunday at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
