Leaders in the Central Bucks School District have selected the candidate they want to become the next superintendent after firing Dr. Steven Yanni last year.
School directors at Central Bucks chose Dr. Joanna M. Wexler as their finalist candidate for the role, officials said.
The district said that Dr. Wexler has 29 years of experience in public education and currently works as the assistant superintendent at Great Valley School District in Malvern.
“I am grateful to the board of directors for the opportunity and their trust. Pending my formal appointment, I look forward to partnering with students, teachers, staff, families and the broader community to build on the district’s strengths and listen with intention as we work to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive and succeed,” Dr. Wexler wrote in a statement.
Dr. Wexler will be introduced to community members at a public forum on Wednesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. at CB West High School in Doylestown. If you would like to submit a question for Dr. Wexler, click here.
The board is scheduled to vote on her becoming the superintendent at a special meeting on April 14 at 7 p.m.
