
An investigation is underway, police said, after a woman was struck and killed while walking along the curb on Olden Avenue in Ewing Township on Sunday.
Parts of Olden Avenue through Ewing Township, New Jersey, were closed to traffic for about four hours overnight after, officials said, a crash investigation was underway.
Police provided an update on Monday morning, noting that a 41-year-old women struck and killed after earlier posting on social media that Olden Avenue between Prospect and Fifth streets was reopening at 2:23 a.m. after being closed to traffic since 10:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The deadly crash happened at about 10:09 p.m. on Sunday, officials said, when a Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 21-year-old driver from Egg Harbor Township, was headed northbound on Ogden Avenue in the curb lane near Sixth Street.
At that time, officials said, the Tacoma struck 41-year-old Krystle Tomlin of Trenton, NJ, who was in the northbound curb lane.
Following this impact, officials said, Tomlin was then struck by another vehicle, a Acura TSX, driven by a 39-year-old from Trenton, who was traveling northbound in the passing lane.
Tomlin, officials said, was pronounced by first responders at the scene.
Officials said both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperating with police.
Police did not immediately say if anyone would be charged in this incident.
