I'm having a hard time deciding if Wallace is actually good or if he just had the good fortune of being drafted by OKC. I see lots of contracts panned in these comment section as overpays, and people nitpick people's games to death. Meanwhile, this dude puts up back to back years of 8 PPG, and it's 'well, he won a title.' But how many people could have slotted into his role and won a title just as easily?
I don't have answers to these things. Maybe Wallace is worth double this. Maybe his defense is THAT good. But it seems like Wallace is benefiting from a lot of benefit of the doubt simply because of the name on the front of the jersey. And hey - good for him. But I'm still not sure this is a great idea.
