A woman was found stabbed to death in McLean, Virginia, near the Great Falls area early Monday morning, police say.
Fairfax County police said a jogger discovered the woman’s body lying next to a car at a small gravel parking lot near Difficult Run Trail about 7 a.m.
Video from Chopper4 showed several orange crime scene markers on and near a burgundy sedan.
Police haven’t named the woman or given any information yet about potential suspects in the killing.
The woman lived in Fairfax County, but police said they don’t believe she lived in the immediate area where she was found.
“There’s no immediate indication that this was a random act. We’re just asking the community if they saw something around 7 o’clock to please reach out to us,” Capt. Jason Chandler said.
Chandler said officers are canvassing the area and working to get surveillance video.
Police closed off a section of Georgetown Pike for hours as they investigated the scene.
