A FB is a FB, not a TE. I understand that some teams use a TE as a FB but some teams use OLmen as TEs in run situations, and OLmen as FBs in those downs. So I don’t buy the ‘hinders’ theory.
If we are using 12, it’s somewhat likely for rushing. We have used ‘extra’ OLmen in that role for awhile now. If you want to leave the option to pass to your TEs available in that heavy set then use MUUUTTTHHH in combo with the extra OLman, if one of the TEs goes down.
I’m not advocating that we NOT have a TE3 rostered. I AM advocating that it’s not a draft need. Get TE3 on the open market or via UDFA.
